Supported goals
delete and opt-out — use the choices offered by Cotality’s live privacy portal for the user’s residence, including sale or sharing opt-out where available.
freeze — not represented as a Credco control. Cotality says Credco resells merged reports rather than maintaining the source database; restrict source credit files through the applicable source-bureau profiles instead.
Channels and required capabilities
- Channel: browser privacy portal or official telephone option
- Harness capabilities: browser and filesystem; email or phone may be needed for verification
- Destination: start from the current Cotality privacy notice
Minimum known fields
The routed official portal determines required identity and contact fields. The user enters sensitive values directly.
Procedure
- Use Cotality’s privacy portal for applicable deletion or opt-out choices.
- If the concern is a Credco merged credit report and no removal choice applies, explain that separate source-bureau freezes are the available restriction path.
- Never claim that one source-bureau freeze covers the others; obtain approval separately.
- Record the exact entity, control, scope, and reported result.
Manual checkpoints
- Identity verification, attestations, sensitive fields, CAPTCHA, and final submission are user-handled.
Evidence and status interpretation
A privacy response may be partial or exempt. A source-bureau freeze restricts that bureau’s report; it does not delete Cotality data or prove that Credco can no longer produce every product.
Limitations
- Consumer-reporting, GLBA, public-record, service-provider, and other data may be exempt from a privacy deletion request.
- Follow the current official notice because available rights and brands can change.
