4. Request preparation

Choose the deletion, opt-out, or freeze template under ../templates/ and adapt it to the broker’s reviewed channel and the user’s stated goal. A suppression request uses the opt-out template with the exact public-display choice offered by the broker. Prefer an official portal over a free-form request when available.

Minimize disclosure

• Include only fields the reviewed channel requires to locate or verify the user’s record.
• Keep optional demographic, account, and identity details out unless the user chooses to add them for a stated purpose.
• Do not add legal citations or claims unless they are supported by current official guidance and relevant to the user’s known facts.
• Never fabricate an account, listing URL, residence, relationship, or identity fact.

Prepare a preview

Before any external action, show:

• broker and exact destination;
• request type and channel;
• fields that will be disclosed, using masked values where practical;
• complete request text or a faithful summary of form selections;
• attachments, if any;
• known limitations and manual checkpoints;
• what evidence and status will be written to the progress file.

For a freeze, also show the report covered, known access exceptions, likely effects on legitimate applications, whether related companies require separate requests, the provider-stated duration, and the official lift/removal or renewal path. Do not assume that a security freeze expires after one year; one year is commonly the duration of an initial fraud alert.

Any material change to destination, disclosed fields, request text, or attachments requires a new preview and approval.
