Broker guidance

Each broker profile is a reviewable Markdown file describing the strongest supported exposure-reduction channel, minimum known fields, manual checkpoints, and limitations. Prefer deletion; otherwise use persistent suppression, opt-out, block, or a security freeze. A freeze restricts access to a report and does not erase it. Profiles are guidance for the harness; they are not executable workflows and do not prove that a company holds the user’s data.

Current profiles

Use profile-template.md for a new company only when it has a removal or release-restriction channel. The CFPB’s current consumer reporting company list is a discovery source for additional specialty reporters, but a company belongs here only after its current restriction channel and consequences are reviewed. Verify official sources before use and update the review date when the observed process is rechecked. If a live flow differs materially, stop and treat it as unreviewed.
